What can I expect when I arrive at Let’s Pretend?
Please arrive at your chosen booking time. We aim to open our doors approximately 5 minutes before the session starts. Unfortunately we are unable to let people in any earlier, as we’ll be cleaning and setting up for the session. A member of staff will check you in for your booking and will ask all adults to scan an NHS Track & Trace QR code with their phone. All visitors will be asked to remove their shoes and take their belongings to their chosen table. Please feel free to bring slippers or soft indoor footwear for your visit.
Why do I need to provide mine and my child’s details?
Personal details are only taken to manage your booking. We need these details to check customers in to each play session. Your details will not be shared with any third parties and you will only be contacted with regards to your booking or responding to a specific enquiry, unless you have signed up to our mailing list. However your details may be used to support the government’s track and trace system in order to support keeping us all safe from COVID-19.
Are there rules in place at Let’s Pretend?
Please see our ‘Rules of Play‘ page found in the footer menu of our website. This gives simple guidance for our visitors to follow and is there to ensure the safety of yourself, your child and others around you. If you are found to be breaking any of the ‘Rules of Play’, a member of staff may issue warnings and you may be asked to leave.
Who supervises children?
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 years old or over. They must supervise and observe children at all times. Let’s Pretend staff are here to provide any further assistance and to make your time here enjoyable.
Is there an age restriction?
Let’s Pretend is aimed at pre-school children, but we know that children of a variety of ages will enjoy playing here – especially if they are coming along with a sibling. Children can be up to 10 years old to play at Let’s Pretend, but must follow our Rules of Play. Babies in arms are welcome and are free of charge. Crawlers are charged a reduced entry fee of £5.
What are the opening hours?
We are open in line with our play sessions which are 9.15am, 12.15pm and 3.15pm. If you have any questions about our opening hours or session times, please contact us.
Is there a time limit to the play session?
Each play session lasts 2.5 hours. We will call out a reminder when there is 5 minutes left on each session. When the session ends, we kindly ask that everyone leaves promptly so that we have time to thoroughly clean and prepare for the next session.
What if I’m running late for my play session?
Our play sessions are fixed times, so if you miss the start, you will still have to leave the play areas at the same time as everyone else so that we can re-set for the next session.
Why am I not allowed to bring food in?
We have a lovely café in Let’s Pretend which caters for all food and drink tastes, as well as dietary requirements. We therefore do not allow people to bring their own food and drink, aside from those with babies under 1 years old.
What kind of food and drink do you serve?
Our menu is full of nutritious, locally sourced food. We serve Breakfast until 11.30am, lunches and light bites, plus a kids menu. You’ll find a selection of Fair Trade tea and ethically sourced coffee from Manumit. Plus a range of cakes and snacks. See our menu page for full details.
When is ‘last orders’ for food and drink?
Food and drink can be ordered during the first two hours of each play session. Visitors will be asked to leave at the end of their play session, unfortunately we cannot allow people to stay on in the cafe once the session has ended, as we need to empty our Play Barn so that we can clean and set up for the next session.
What should we wear?
Kids should wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for play. We operate a no shoes policy in our play areas, but socks must be worn at all times. You are welcome to bring your own slippers.
Can I take photographs and videos?
You are permitted to take photographs in Let’s Pretend, but please only photograph your own child/children, and be respectful of other people’s privacy.
How can I get in contact?
Please see the ‘Contact Us‘ page found in the header and footer menus of our website to get in touch.
Where can I find Let’s Pretend?
We are at Priory Farm, Sandy Lane, Nutfield RH1 4EJ. Our barn is the second barn along from the Farm Shop (next to the Gift Barn). We are on the opposite side of the road to Priory Farm Nursery and Discovery Walk.
Is there parking at Let’s Pretend?
We have 40 parking spaces allocated to Let’s Pretend. Please park near to our barn and not in the Farm Shop area as these spaces are for customers using the shop.
Can I bring in pushchairs?
We have a limited space for pushchairs. Please try and leave them in the car if possible, but if you need to bring yours in then we can store it for you.
Why are you now charging for additional adults?
Due to the capacity restrictions in place, we can’t afford to let more than two free adults into a play session. Additional adults are charged at £12 as this is the price we would have achieved for a child booking.
How are you cleaning between each session?
We use anti-bacterial spray to wipe down our surfaces and play equipment, both during and after each play session. In 2020 we installed an advanced air purification system that removes viruses (including Covid-19) from the air. We are confident that Let’s Pretend is one of the safest places to be with your children.
Do I have to wear a mask?
We ask all adults and children over 11 years old to please wear a mask whilst inside Let’s Pretend. This is in line with Government requirements. Whilst seated in our café area you my remove your mask if you wish.
